2013 World Naked Bike Ride

 

2013 WNBR in Portland, OR

On June 8, 2013 thousands of naked bike riders took to the streets of downtown Portland in protest of pollution-based transport and to raise awareness of the vulnerability of cyclist everywhere.  The ride began with riders gathering in the Park Blocks area  outside the Portland Art Museum.

Luckily, this year’s event was met with excellent weather conditions and the ride was a huge success with a fantastic turn-out.

This page is dedicated to all the riders.  We salute the brave PDXers who joined in the protest to put a stop to the indecent exposure of people and the planet to cars and the pollution they create.  The demonstration also promoted body acceptance in the naturist spirit, energy self-sufficiency, community awareness, and a general respect for the environment.

The 2013 Portland World Naked Bike Ride coincidentally took place during the time of the “Cyclepedia” exhibit at the Portland Art Museum.  The Museum actually collaborated with the naked bike ride organizers with a special offer.  The Art Museum offered a special admission price to the exhibit of $1 per article of clothing worn!  The museum also aided in collection of donations to cover expenses for the ride.  Where other than Portland would this happen?
