The world’s largest naked bike ride!
Everyone has been eagerly awaiting the 2024 Portland WNBR, and wants to know, “When is the 2024 Portland World Naked Bike Ride?”. The organizers announced that there will be no WNBR in Portland in 2024. The announcement said, “Last year’s ride was a great success, but the planning for 2024 didn’t start in September as expected, and by springtime we realized we were behind on our leadership recruiting goals. Making the protest safe and accessible is a huge undertaking, months in the making”.
Volunteers are needed for planning a ride in the summer of 2025. More information is available on pdxwnbr.org and the facebook page.
However, there is a July 13, 2024 National Skinny Dip clothing optional ride on the Pedalpalooza calendar. Join the International Skinny Dip Day naked bike ride! Celebrate all types of bodies and enjoy skinny dipping in the river. Ride through Portland’s streets, in a city where joy is a form of protest, leaving inhibitions behind and embracing the beauty of your natural self.
Also, on July 26th there will be a Naked Zombie Bike Ride! There are several other naked rides on the 2024 calendar at shift2bikes.org.
The WNBR is a demonstration for bicyclist safety, encouraging motorist to be aware of cyclists. It is also a protest against dependency on fossil fuels and the car culture. This is a protest ride, so body paint and signs are encouraged to highlight your concern for the climate crisis, oil dependency, LGBTQA+ rights, abortion access or any other political and social issues of concern.

In Oregon, being clothing-free while protesting is considered an exercise of free speech, so it is not illegal. The Portland WNBR raises awareness of body dysmorphia, and helps shape public opinion by challenging how society views body shape & size, as well as questioning conventional notions of beauty.
The World Naked Bike Ride is an international event that takes place in over 70 cities around the world. By liberating ourselves from clothing, we demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists. We also increase self-esteem by promoting body positivity. We celebrate the idea that all humans are beautiful and none are perfect.
- Bikes should have a headlight.
- Bring non-alcoholic beverages.
- Decorate your bike!
- Watch out for other riders.
- The ride will be huge and starts slowly. Be patient.
- Join the after parties!
