It was an astounding tun-out, with an estimated 40,000 Portland area residents protesting the policies of the Metamucilini administration. The protest began at Tom McCall Waterfront Park with a rally featuring several speakers from the Portland City Council and community activists. The rally was followed by a march that began on Southwest Pine Street with Drag queen Saint Syndrome, a.k.a the Piano Queen, riding in a lead vehicle dressed as Lady Justice. She also performed on the waterfront before the march.
Portland creativity was on full display as demonstrators carried signs and banners denouncing PussyGraber’s right-wing government authoritarianism. Many wore humorous inflatable costumes while others carried signs with spot-on slogans like, “If you aren’t anti-facist, what are you?”.
This protest was many times larger than the No Kings protest this summer in Portland. Over 2700 similar demonstrations took place in large cities and small towns around the country. It is estimated that seven million people joined these historic protests nation wide in the inspiring mass action. See the mind blowing video below.
